New/Returning Artist | Submissions due 1 Aug
Hello, and thank you for your interest in exhibiting at the 2026 RME Downlands Art Exhibition. The exhibition is a curated collection of artworks covering a huge range of media and subject matter. New artists are invited to apply for access to an “artist’s portal” where they may submit artworks for consideration by the Downlands curatorial team.
- Submission does not guarantee inclusion.
- Artwork must be delivered to the college on Saturday, 12, and Sunday, 13 September 2026.
- The exhibition will close on Wednesday, 23 September, at 4pm.

All artworks will incur a $5 non-refundable entry fee per submitted item, as well as a 25% commission upon sale (plus relevant GST unless otherwise arranged).
- The collection of sold and unsold artwork will take place from Thursday, 24 September to Saturday, 26 September.
- Thursday 24 September - 10:00am to 6:00pm
- Friday 25 September - 10:00am to 6:00pm
- Saturday 26 September - 9:00am to 5:00pm

We have enjoyed the assistance of exhibitors with the hanging and dismantling of our exhibition in the past. This has ensured a considered display with clear artist community engagement. To register, CLICK HERE.
- Artist introduction/information night: Thursday, 17 September, at 6:30pm (for artists only).
- Gala opening: Friday, 18, at 7pm. This is a ticketed event, and all guests, including exhibiting artists, must purchase a ticket to attend. CLICK HERE to purchase your ticket.

- Be sure to include some images of your best works as email attachments. Our curator can help you decide what to submit.
- Also include an artist’s statement/bio to provide background on your art practice.
- Accepted artists (including 2025 exhibitors) will be sent a portal link in May.
- Returning artists (pre-2025) will need to reapply for a portal link via email.
- The Curator will finalise selections and notify suppliers in early August.
Note: It would be greatly appreciated if artists could assist us with the hanging and dismantling of the exhibition during September. We also need sales staff if you are able to assist.
