Artist’s Statement
These works on display are from his most recent solo exhibition titled “INFER” were he uses all of his skills combined with the language of abstraction to create works that speak to his daily struggles with dyslexia. The bespoke and upcycled frames a testament to his resourceful nature and D.I.Y philosophy.
Biography
Michael Archibald is a calligraphy artist, graphic designer, screen printer and a street and mural artist. He has been a practicing artist in Toowoomba for 25 years and through his paint supply shop Kontraband, he was the instigator of nationally recognized street art festival “First Coat.” He has exhibited in countless group exhibitions and has had two solo exhibitions very near sell out, with The Grid Hybrid Arts Collective and The Starving Artist Collaborative.
