  • Artist’s Statement

Jen uses a variety of mediums including watercolours, acrylic and often a touch of charcoal and ink. Her style reflects a certain looseness and accidental quality. She loves to go outside the lines and keeps her paintings loose, free and fun.
Jen’s connection to the land and earth is reflected in her paintings. She loves to paint landscapes, animals (a favorite is bees) and florals. She also loves to delve into the spiritual side of her subjects. She hopes her paintings bring as much joy to the viewers as they do to her, the creator.

  • Biography

Jen Marshall's artistic journey is a testament to the healing power of creativity. Beginning her art practice in 2020 while recovering from breast cancer, Jen turned to painting as a form of therapy and self-expression. Despite the challenges she faced, she dedicated herself to a daily practice, finding strength and healing in the act of creation.
Raised in Tumut, a small town in the snowy mountains, then working in the Gulf of Carpentaria and finally settling on a farm in the Darling Downs, Jen's connection to nature and rural surrounds runs deep. This bond with the land and animals is evident in her art. She is also a backyard beekeeper and draws much artistic inspiration from all things bees.
