  • Biography

A note from the artwork supplier -
Elizabeth Holian is widely regarded as one of Australia's greatest Surrealist artist.
Influenced by Dali from a very early age - and here I might quote from a Francis Whiting Sunday Mail colour supplement about her from April 18th 1998:
"Elizabeth has been invited to exhibit several of her works at the prestigious Galabert Studios in New York in October and in November she will travel to Paris for her first Solo Exhibition Homage To Dali at the Miromesnil Fine Arts Gallery.
"The Paris exhibition is to mark the 10th anniversary of Dali's death and Robert Descharnes, who was Dali's manager and friend for 30 years has agreed to open it for me" Elizabeth said.
Descharnes has already bought one of Elizabeth's works as has Desmond Morris, author of The Naked Ape.
There's also a solo exhibition in London next year and, closer to home, Elizabeth has been commissioned to paint 10 works for the Melbourne Millennium Arts Festival.
As the only Australian painter among 50 surrealist artists from around the world, to be included in the festival, she has also been asked to design its surrealist exhibition poster."
